Main dialog screen
Source path
Drive letter to CD or local/remote path containing the "source" files.
The source files must be one of the following versions of Windows:
- Windows XP Home Edition (must be Service Pack 1 or higher)
- Windows XP Professional (must be Service Pack 1 or higher)
- Windows Server 2003, Web Edition
- Windows Server 2003, Standard Edition
- Windows Server 2003, Enterprise Edition
For example, if you use MSDN Windows server 2003 English CD-Rom, you
must enter "X:\English\Win2003\Standard" as the path to your
Windows files.
(where "X:" is the driveletter of your CD-Rom drive)
You can use the Source/Search menu option to search for files.
You can use the Source/Check menu option to check/validate your source files.
Custom directory
Select a local or remote path containing any folders and files you want to add/include.
Don't include your windows directory, or any other folder that has file that are in use.
Also keep in mind that the files added must fix your target media.
For example when creating a bootable CD-Rom you can add something around 300-400MB of extra data.
Output directory
Select a local or remote path to where you want to "store" the files
PE Builder copies for you. This location must have enough free space
to hold these files.
Please note that the location your enter is relative to your pebuilder directory.
Create ISO Image
When you leave this checkbox enabled, PE Builder will create the ISO image for you.
Warning! Leave the "Create ISO image" option enabled, it
will create the ISO image for you!
Do not try to generate the ISO image using some other burning application.
Most of them cannot create an ISO-9660:1999 (version 2) filesystem and
if they can most of them don't boot!
Just below the checkbox you enter the location you want the ISO image file saved.
Burn to CD
Check to burn the iso-image after building to a CDWriter you can pick in
dropdown box.
Check if CD-rewritable needs to be erased before burning.
(Burning to a DVD writer is not supported!)
